10 pounds in 30 days

I put myself up to a challenge, loose 10 punds in 30 days or no video games for a month. I made it!

Hello World

It’s been a while since I posted, it’s pretty much because I have found more important things to spend my time on (like spending time with my girlfriend Heidi). Fear not, I have not abandoned this place altogether. You will still find posts here from time to time, so keep me in your feed reader.

A whole Slew of Things

It’s been a while since I have updated. Here’s some things you might be interested in:

Helio

I have had a decent amount of problems with my Helio Drift (battery, gmail didn’t work and slow menus), so I called them up today and they are sending me a brand new Helio Ocean at no cost. I did a little research today and I am getting excited about it’s full qwerty keyboard, integrated IM and Gmail access. (Ocean on: phone scoop | helio | cnet | engadget)

Laptop

I have purchased a Dell Inspiron 6400 (Intel DualCore 1.73GHz | 160GB | 15.4″ WXGA | Nvidia 256MB Ge Force 7300). I consider this an investment I will make a return on because it will help me get more freelance design projects. I am really looking forward to becoming more mobile. This will also be a Vista computer… I have mixed feelings about this, I guess I could always go back to XP (or install OS X).

Floor Stickers

JT Sports has received a shipment of EMX-1000 floor stickers. These will be in Sports Authority, Academy Sports and Dick’s (maybe more…). It’s all part of the major Stryker Paintball POP incentive I have been working on for the past 2 months (which also includes shelf danglers).

Grandma Norma Huennerkopf [1931 - 2007]

My Grandma passed away a week ago today. I just spent the last 5 days in Springfield remembering all the good times I had with her.

This past December when I came home after Christmas I spent a good hour crying my eyes out with the realization that I had probably seen here living for the last time. It was a time of self-reflection on why I am here instead of at home with my family.

Grandma- you will sure be missed.

These Premises Under Video Surveillance

A funny sign at the U-Haul place

There is PLENTY of room for These Premises “ARE” Under Video Surveillance.

This is right up there with the “DON’T WORK” sign Josh and I witnessed on a

Wal-Mart soda-machine

Move

Just a quick update. I am now at my Bentonville address.

Thanks to Josh for helping me move.

It’s been an exhausting weekend and I haven’t showered in a day.

[Blades of Glory is AWESOME BTW]

Packaging now in Wal-Mart

Look what I have created. It’s the first piece of packaging I have seen in Wal-Mart that I created. It was a pretty cool experience. If you happen to see this at your Wal-Mart the version I made has “AWX” logos all over it. I am especially proud of the graphics on the top panel- I know I am totally geeking out over it. Sorry.

5 Stars of Thai Hot

There was an incident at work that has snowballed into a ridiculous situation.

How it started

Last week me and some other JT staff went to eat lunch at “Taste of Thai” in Bentonville. I ordered garlic chicken with 4/5 stars of “Thai Hot” which I did not think was very hot.

The Challenge

Some people were offended by this and have dared me to order the spiciest thing on the menu. Tomorrow at lunch I am ordering 5 star BBQ Chicken.

For some reason everyone is talking about it. I don’t really get it, but I have learned from Chuck Norris to never back down from a challenge.

Run.

I have started running again. I love it.

There’s nothing like getting some fresh air and exercising at the same time. I have been doing about a 1.7 mile loop by my apartment usually around midnight.

Also worth a mention is the ton of pictures I have uploaded to my flickr [Daisy BB Gun Museum + Pigeon Roost Trail] from when Nathan and Danielle came by.

We had a really great time hanging out (they said it was the best spring break ever) and I learned some new things about each of them. Like:

Nathan absolutely hates all things coffee. I knew he didn’t like coffee, but the extent to which he would avoid it was new to me.

Danielle says “are you freakin’ kidding me?” or the variant “are you kidding me?” ALLOT. Me and Nathan started making fun of her for it.
